World of music has saved my life. I started playing the violin at the age of eight, and soon became member of several student orchestras and folk music groups. For long time music was the only channel for expressing my feelings. Luckily, learning is a lifelong process. At very early stage I got the opportunity to play with older and more experienced fellow students and learned a lot. I started my professional music studies at Ostrobothnian Conservatory and finished my Masters degree at Sibelius-Academy’s soloists department.
Before I got my position at Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra (Helsingin kaupunginorkesteri in finnish), I worked for long periods in The Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Tapiola Sinfonietta and Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra.
Passion for chamber music inspired me to get together my own group, the Proton String Quartet in 2005. We’ve concentrated to projects with fascinating artists, such as Kimmo Pohjonen. With him and his fellow composer Samuli Kosminen we have performed their composition ”Uniko” at various festivals around the world, from Macau to Portugal, Turkey and Austria.
